Great Salt Lake - Seen from Above

A striking contrast of purple and blue emerged from the vast white salt-flat landscape as the aircraft passed over the Great Salt Lake region. What I saw through the window was stunning. During my flight from San Francisco to Toronto on September 6, 2026, I was fortunate to capture these breathtaking images from 10,000 metres above. The photographs offer a unique aerial perspective of one of North America’s most remarkable landscapes. The dramatic contrast of the purple North Arm and deep blue South Arm, separated by the causeway, is a powerful reminder of how human activity shapes the natural world, sometimes with unintended consequences.
